Having secured the huge 12-year franchise in April 16, Arriva (Northern) immediately engaged Gryphon to support their franchise commitment in rolling-out Automatic Ticket Gates (ATG) at 13 strategic stations on their station network. These included:
The deployment of ATGs at these key stations played a vital role in both the revenue and station security plans for the new franchise. Whilst many of the selected stations had historically been deemed too hard or indeed too expensive to deploy ATGs, the Gryphon team worked very closely with the Northern project team to make sure the ATG solutions could be delivered in a compliant and cost-effective manner.
